Voices Israel publishes a monthly newsletter, produced by our Secretary, containing items of interest to members – upcoming Voices Israel events; where to submit poetry, members’ publications, as well as poetry readings, workshops, and other items of poetic interest. Originally hand-typed and stenographed (those were the days!), our Newsletter is now a colourful PDF emailed to our members.
The monthly section of the Newsletter called “Group Poetry Selections” showcases poems by Voices members, from Israel and abroad, that were selected by each Voices Israel group to be featured that month. Members can also submit, directly to the editor, other poems they would like to see appear in the newsletter. These independent submissions are encouraged, and included — as space permits — in a separate Poets’ Corner section of the newsletter, after the section for the group poetry selections.

Note that the version of the Newsletter on this website does not include the two sections of poetry selections. This is because the inclusion of a poem in a newsletter circulated only to a closed list of members is not considered publication and does not preclude the poet from submitting it for publication elsewhere, but most literary magazines do count as “published” the poems included on a website.
